The facility is located in High Point, NC on approximately 60 acres. Responsibilities

KSA is currently recruiting for a Senior Chemical Process Engineer. This is a challenging engineering position in a large chemical processing facility. Daily duties include:

Detailed design, configuration, integration and implementation of process control solutions for our chemical production units including batch configuration, PLC / DCS systems, HMI packages, SCADA systems. Troubleshoot and maintain the existing plant I/E and control equipment for safe, efficient and environmentally friendly plant operation. Provide technical direction as it relates to process control, I/E design and equipment specifications. Essential duties include:

  • Apply engineering expertise, analyze data for trends, and identify process & operational improvements
  • Drive improvements, process optimizations, and improved process control to enhance product quality, yields, energy and other cost improvements
  • Preparing deliverables including: material balances, flow sheets and design calculations
  • Follow all of the ISO procedures regarding process control and documentation
  • Investigate and plan corrective actions along with applying statistical techniques in order to improve, track, investigate quality problems
  • Promoting a culture of working safely and applying safety related concepts into process design.
  • Apply root cause analysis techniques and creative alternatives to technical related problems
  • Maintaining effective communications and working relationships with operators, maintenance, project engineering, contractor, administrative support, and R&D personnel
  •  Provide knowledge of engineering concepts to include thermodynamics, heat transfer, etc.
  • Capital project management to include coordination of all phases of capital projects from business justification to start-up including scope development, evaluation and selection of technical alternatives, construction management and start-up

Qualifications

Candidates for this position must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Chemical batch processing experience
  • Eight years’ experience in chemical processing industry or comparable experience in manufacturing
  • Possess thorough knowledge and have ability of improving production and improving costs
  • Statistical Quality Control experience
  • Direct, chemical plant production involvement

The ideal candidate would also have the following skills:

  • Experience with ethylene oxide & propylene oxide
  • PE License
  • Experience with Honeywell DCS
